What is the BKOR dreams map?

The BKOR dreams map is tool to connect to the artworks from the BKOR collection, I selected the 8 best works that can be related to the fear of sleeping. Each of these artworks about things that could give people the fear of sleep. From stress, family, money to actual nightmares

The map isn't meant as therapy, but it could influence the users dreams or thoughts. When the user describes or visualises the artwork in their own personal way they connect to it, which leads to the artwork influence the users dreams or thoughts. When the users finished the descriptions or visualisations of the artworks, the user can draw his own map so the users has their own personal BKOR map. The user can decide to only describe/visualise the artwork once, or do it multiple times when their situations or thought change.

Design choices

I went for an old school kind of design cause I found that a lot of these artworks we're made 30-40 years ago. Some of the pictures even had a really vintage look to them, which inspired to apply the same edit over all the photo's, this also connected all the art works together as one visual

Next to the artworks there's a small description which I wrote myself, they are based on the real descriptions, but more suited to the situation of the user group. I then added a QR code next to each artwork which would lead to the BKOR website where the user can then read the full description and artist information, making it a full circle.
After user test

After the first user test I made the changes of the barcode, the added instructions and the instructions for the map. I added the addresses of the artworks and the location on the map with famous landmarks of Rotterdam, cause those are the instruction I first gave my test users on the first test, which was by conversation. For the second user test I didn't have to walk my test users trough it anymore.

On the left is a map drawn by one of my test users.
