NIGHT TIME STORIES
The night time stories is a collection of five books. In which the user will create his/her own dreamworld by writing or drawing in the time they have at night, in which they would usually sleep but for some reason can't.

Why write?

By breaking patterns such as day-night and sleep-active, your brain is 'surprised' and as a result behaves differently. It is not exactly clear why writing or drawing at night works in a different way, but it can be an interesting experience.

To build your own fictional world, there are five key elements.

Each element has his own artwork from the BKOR collection. The element and the artwork have been linked through shape and concept. More on this can be found on the research process page.

The five books are:

1. SPACE (polaris & Octans by Marinus Boezem)
2. NATURE (Spanning by Ewerdt Hilgemann)
3. LANDSCAPE (Zandwacht By Observatorium)
4. CULTURE (Untitled by Luigi de Lerma)
5. CREATURES (Untitled by bouke Ylstra)
These books are all notebooks, they are meant to be used for writing, sketching, doodling. Inside there are instructions on how to get started with creating your own dreamworld, and an informational text on the linked artwork.

Each book has it's own different 'steps', in Book one: SPACE you start big and each page you zoom in a little more until at last, you arrive at your world. So, you begin at the largest you can get, the universe. You then progress to galaxy, solar system, etc. These steps are there to guide you in your imagination. Each book guides you a little further until after the fifth book, you have imagined the basics of a functional fiction world.

Book one: Space is actually printed. For book 2-5 I made the covers, but they are not actually printed. Together, they will look like this:
All illustrations are drawn from the artworks. This includes the covers and the small ones inside Book one: Space.
